Officine Volta approaches its 70th anniversary

12 Jan 2026

Interview with Nicola Guerra, Managing Director

Officine Volta is an Italian industrial company founded in 1957, specializing in the design and manufacturing of solutions for air diffusion in the HVAC sector.

For over sixty years, the company has been working alongside architects and consultants in air conditioning, developing diffusers and aeraulic components that combine technical performance, indoor comfort, and attention to design. This positioning is particularly relevant in contemporary architectural projects: high-end retail, hotels, luxury residences, and complex spaces where aesthetics and well-being must coexist.

The beginning of a new year is always a good time to take stock of the progress made and, above all, to look to the future. Even more so when the future coincides with an important anniversary. Founded in 1957, Officine Volta is heading towards its 70th year of activity in 2026.

We discuss about that with Nicola Guerra, Managing Director and one of the company’s three directors, alongside Daniele Buscaroli and Gian Luca Nicoli.

A structured growth path, export and international presence

Mr. Guerra, let’s start with the year that has just ended. How did 2025 go for Officine Volta?

2025 was a year that confirmed a now structured growth path. We recorded a further increase in turnover and a strengthening of the brand’s presence, both in Italy and in some foreign countries. This growth has been going on steadily since 2018, when the current owners took over, and reflects a medium- to long-term industrial vision.

In 2025, turnover exceeded the previous year’s one by more than 10% and, at the same time, we saw a significant increase in the brand’s presence abroad, thanks partly to new marketing and positioning activities.

Does this development lead you to new strategic considerations?

Yes. Today, the share of turnover linked to export stands at around 6.5% of the total. We consider it positive, but it also indicates wide change for development. The target is to increase this share in 2026, while maintaining a balanced and sustainable approach.

Officine Volta’s air diffusion solutions are currently available in several European countries and in the UK, particularly in Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Romania, which was added in 2025.

Which customer class are growing the most?

In 2025, we acquired around 300 new customers, many of whom generated meaningful orders. The installation company class, historically important for Officine Volta, is growing significantly, with an increase of more than 30%.

We are also seeing meaningful growth in the OEM class, for which we develop custom-designed products manifactured according to specific technical and dimensional requirements. An interesting signal is also coming from duct installers, professionals specialising in the construction, installation and maintenance of air ducts.

The role of architects in high-end projects

What role does the relationship with architects and consultants play in this scenario?

For Officine Volta, it is a strategical role. We are increasingly working in contexts where air diffusion is not a secondary element but an integral part of the architectural design. We are talking about luxury retail, high-end hotels, prestigious mansions, but also complex spaces where comfort, acoustics, and aesthetics must coexist harmoniously.

In these areas, our diffusers are chosen because they meet the needs of architects and interior designers both from a formal point of view, thanks to their high level of customization, and from a functional point of view, when careful design of air flows and sound impact are required for a better life quality and user experience.

Industrial applications and confidential projects

Have you also worked on industrial projects?

Yes, in this case we are also talking about manifacturing facilities designed with high technological performance. In December 2025, we signed an important contract for supplying our diffusers to a manufacturing plant of a very important Made in Italy luxury brand.

I can’t go into details, but it’s a manifacturing company that makes high-value goods for a particularly demanding class of customers. It was an interesting project that required very close dialogue with the architects and the client.

Productive investments and industrial quality

What investments have you focused on most?

In 2025, we invested mainly in manifacturing. We upgraded our laser cutting of sheet, automated bending, aluminium profiles cutting, and assembling of aluminum ventilation grilles. This allows us to guarantee very tight tolerances even on long lengths, which is essential when working on complex architectural projects.

Towards 70 years: continuity and long-term vision

Looking ahead, what does the 70-year milestone represent for you?

The 70th anniversary of Officine Volta, which we are going to celebrate in 2027, will not be a point of arrival but a stage in a constantly evolving journey. We are already planning further investments, both industrial, to increase the productivity of the steel department, and logistical, with a more structured warehouse that is more responsive to market needs.

It is a way to continue to be a reliable partner for architects, designers, and our stakeholders, maintaining the continuity and solidity that we believe are fundamental in the long term.
